Trial & Pricing

How does the free trial work?

Sign up and add your credit card to get 10 scans over 3 days completely free. After 3 days or 10 scans (whichever comes first), your subscription automatically converts to the Basic plan at $5/month. Cancel anytime before the trial ends to avoid charges.

Why is a credit card required for the trial?

We require a credit card to prevent trial abuse and ensure quality service for genuine users. Your card will not be charged during the 3-day trial period. You can cancel anytime before the trial ends with no charge.

Will I be charged during the trial?

No. Your card is only charged when the trial ends (after 3 days or 10 scans). If you cancel before the trial ends, you won't be charged anything. You'll receive an email reminder 24 hours before your trial converts to a paid subscription.

Can I upgrade or downgrade my plan?

Yes! Change your plan anytime from your account dashboard. Upgrades take effect immediately with prorated billing. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing cycle.

Do you offer refunds?

Yes! We offer a 7-day money-back guarantee from the start of your paid subscription (after trial ends). Contact support@tcgsnipe.com for a full refund if you're not satisfied.

Features & Usage

What happens if I exceed my daily scan limit?

You'll need to wait until the next day (resets at midnight UTC) or upgrade to a higher tier for more scans. Scan limits reset automatically every 24 hours.

Which card games are supported?

Currently: Pokémon TCG, Magic: The Gathering, and One Piece Card Game. We support cards from vintage sets to the latest releases, including Japanese cards. More games coming soon (Yu-Gi-Oh!, Lorcana, etc.)!

Does TCG Snipe work on Mac and Linux?

Currently, TCG Snipe is available for Windows 10/11 (64-bit). macOS and Linux versions are coming soon! Join our newsletter to be notified when they launch.

How accurate is the card recognition?

Our AI-powered recognition achieves 95%+ accuracy on clear card images. It can identify card name, set, rarity, condition, and even detect PSA graded cards. For best results, capture the card when it's clearly visible on stream.

Can I scan Japanese cards?

Yes! TCG Snipe fully supports Japanese cards for Pokémon, MTG, and One Piece. It recognizes Japanese text and provides English translations with proper set identification.

Chrome Extension vs Desktop App: Which should I use?

Both use the same subscription! Here's when to use each:

  • 🖥️ Desktop App (Recommended): Best for speed and power users. Works with ANY website or video source. Fastest scanning with global hotkeys.
  • 🌐 Chrome Extension: Most convenient for browser-only users. One-click scanning directly in your browser on Whatnot, TikTok, YouTube.
  • ⚡ Pro Tip: Use BOTH together! Desktop for rapid-fire scanning, extension for quick checks while browsing.

How do the Desktop App and Chrome Extension work together?

Your subscription works on both simultaneously! Many users keep the desktop app running in the background for fast global hotkey scanning (Ctrl+Shift+C), while using the extension for one-click browser scans. They share the same daily scan limit and subscription tier.

Technical Questions

How do I scan a card?

It's simple:

  1. Open a live stream (Whatnot, TikTok, YouTube)
  2. Press Ctrl+Shift+C when a card appears
  3. Wait ~3-5 seconds for AI recognition
  4. View instant pricing and card details

Do I need to keep the app open?

TCG Snipe runs in the background. You can minimize it and use global hotkeys (Ctrl+Shift+C) to scan cards without switching windows.

Where does pricing data come from?

We use a 3-tier pricing system:

  • Tier 1: AI estimates with PSA grading predictions
  • Tier 2: Official TCGPlayer pricing via JustTCG API
  • Tier 3: Real-time eBay sold listings and Buy It Now data

Is my data private and secure?

Yes. We use enterprise-grade authentication (WorkOS) and all payment processing is handled securely by Stripe. Card images are only sent to our AI service for recognition and are not stored permanently. See our Privacy Policy for details.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Log in to your account and click "Manage Subscription" to access the Stripe billing portal. You can cancel, update payment methods, or view billing history there. Your subscription remains active until the end of your current billing period.
